25 Home Remedies To Get Rid Of Blackheads

1. Facial Steam

Take facial steam twice a week to open up clogged pores and also removes out dirt from pores causing blackheads.

2. Warm Towel Method

This is an alternate method of Facial steam. Boil clean water and  dip a clean towel into it, squeeze towel and keep it on blackheads for few minutes. This open pores and remove blackheads and dirt. Do this regularly to cleanses skin and prevent blackheads

3. Gram Flour + Fresh Cream + Rose Water

Mix gram flour, a spoon of fresh cream and 2 spoons of rose-water make a paste and apply it to face, rub gently then leave it for 10-15 minutes and rinse with warm water.

4. Honey + Cinnamon

Take 2 tbsp of  honey and  1 tbsp of cinnamon, mix them together and apply onto face let it dry for 5-10 minutes then wash with warm water.

5. Tomato

Take a peeled tomato remove seeds and mash it. Now apply it on face before bed, leave it overnight and wash it with warm water in the morning.

6. Egg-White Mask

This is one of the best method to get rid from blackheads. Take egg-white in a bowl with the help of brush apply a thin mask on face leave it for 5 minutes then again apply a second layer of egg-white to face. Let it dry for 15-20 minutes or until completely dry and makes your skin tight then wash gently with warm water. This method will tighten pores and pull out dirt from pores.

7. Lemon + Salt

Mix few drops of lemon juice with salt, stir it well then dab with cotton onto face leave it for few minutes and wash with warm water.

8. Lemon + Sugar

Take one spoon of sugar and add few drops of lemon juice stir it and rub this gently on face leave it for few minutes then wash with warm water.

9. Clay Mask

Apply clay mask for 10-25 minutes or until completely dry then wash with warm water. This method will also tightens pores and prevent skin from blackheads.

10. Orange Peel

Make a scrub of orange peel and water, rub it gently on face let it dry then wash with warm water.

11. Turmeric

Take a spoon of turmeric add few drops of water and make paste. Apply this paste on face let it dry then wash with warm water.

12. Honey

Gently rub honey on face for 2 minutes and leave it for 10 minutes then wash with warm water. Honey clears skin, makes it soft and glowing.

13. Oatmeal + Rose-Water

Mix oatmeal powder with few drops of rose-water to make a paste, apply this on face let it dry then wash with warm water.

14. Oatmeal + Yogurt

Make a paste of oatmeal and yogurt with equal quantities each and apply on face, rub few minutes then wash with warm water.

15. Baking Soda

Apply a paste of water and baking soda over blackheads leave it for 5-10 minutes then wash with water.

16. FenuGreek Leaves

Make paste of fenugreek leaves and apply on face, let it for 10 minutes and wash with warm water.

17. Almonds + Gram Flour

Soak almonds overnight ( or take a bowl of boiling water add few almonds leave it for 10 minutes) then peel off the skin, crush the
peeled almonds, to this add gram flour and make scrub. Rub it on face gently for few minutes, let it dry then wash with warm water.

18. Nutmeg + Buttermilk

Crush or grind nutmeg but not too fine, to this add few drops of buttermilk to form a paste. Apply and scrub gently for few minutes then rinse with warm water.

19. Potato

Take a raw peeled potato cut it into 2 pieces then take one piece rub it on face for 15 minutes on affected area and entire face, let it dry then wash with warm water.

20. Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulfate)

Mix a tbsp of Epsom salt with few drops of warm water, when salt dissolves dab this on face using cotton ball. Let it dry then rinse with warm water.

21. Green Tea

Take dry green tea leaves in a bowl add few drops of water make a scrub and gently rub on face for few minutes leave it for 5 minutes and wash with warm water.

22. Olive Oil + Lemon Juice

Take 2 spoons of olive oil add few drops of lemon juice and apply this to affected areas, leave it for few minutes then wash with warm water.

23. Toothpaste

Apply a thin layer of toothpaste on blackheads leave it for 15-20 minutes then wash with warm water. Do this alternate days for 2 weeks to get best results.

24. Rose water

Washing your face daily or dabbing rose-water with cotton ball to face regularly help prevents the skin from blackheads and cleanses skin.

25. Lemon Scrub

Take a lemon cut into halves, take one piece and gently rub on the blackheads for few minutes let it dry then wash with warm water. Do not over rub skin it may damage your skin or cause rashes.

  • Never pick or squeeze blackheads with fingers.
  • Wash face at least twice a day to keep it clean from oil.
  • Wear makeup as little as possible and wash it before bed.
  • Wash pillow covers regularly.
  • Use water based wet tissues to soak oil from face.

Take 5 tea spoons of sugar in a bowl add few drops of water and stir it for 2 minutes, make paste and apply to face. Scrub a little bit in circular motion for few minutes and rinse off with water.

Honey

Rubbing honey gently in small circular motion for few minutes exfoliate your skin and makes skin soft, supple and glowing. Honey works wonders for skin and using it twice a week leaves your skin glowing.

Oatmeal

How To Treat Greasy/Oily Hair

Greasy hair is a hair condition which is one of four types of hair conditioning- normal, greasy, dry and greasy dry. It is caused by excess build-up of secretion called sebum from the sebaceous glands in the scalp by the continuous development of natural grease. Greasy hair can look dull and lifeless and may result in sever hair fall so treating it at right time is important. People with this type of hair find difficulties to keep a hair style. People with fine, wavy hair are more prone to greasy hair than with course, curly hair. Hormonal changes is also linked to the development of oily/greasy hair.

  • Irregular and inconsistent hair cleansing is most common which holds toxins and dirt, result in formation of greasy hair.
  • Use of unsuitable hair products like deep conditioners, shampoo etc leads to greasy hair.
  • Excessive carbohydrate, fat and starch consumption can increase developing greasy hair.
  • Regular use of hair straighteners and curling irons.
  • Frequent brushing hair which stimulate your scalp/roots which results in rapid flow of oil from roots to strands making it greasy.

Tips On How To Treat

  1. Wash hair frequently to remove dirt, oil/grease and toxins, but do not wash daily instead alternate day work great.
  2. While conditioning use little conditioner and make sure you rinse all the conditioner out.
  3. Avoid touching or brushing your hair as much as possible instead brush only when needed.
  4. Wash hair with warm water and end up washing with cold water to close hair pores.
  5. Avoid using blow driers and hair straightener as much as possible. Do not use them regularly. Air dry is best for all hair types and will not damage hair.
  6. If hair is more greasy then use conditioner only to lower half of your hair and leave your roots conditioner free.
  7. Use hydrating shampoo.
  8. Use mixture of vinegar and water in the ratio 1:10 as a final rinse while rinsing your hair.
  9. Clay Hair masks work great for greasy hair so go for it at least once a month.
  10. Look for the hair products which suits your hair type and those specially made for oily/greasy hair with neutral pH.
  11. If your hair looks oily at top and dry at ends then apply leave-in conditioner to ends.
  12. Give maximum time intervals between hair treatments such as hair dyes, highlights, perms etc.
  13. If you want to remove extra oil from your scalp then leave the shampoo for longer time to absorb the oil and then rinse.
  14. For a quick fix on greasy hair when you need to go out and cannot wash hair, apply little bit of talc/baby powder to scalp and gently brush hair. This will absorbs oil and help to look better. Use this method only in emergency as talc/powder may contain some harmful chemicals which may harm your hair.
